Cuban Link Chain Stud Earring - Gold Plated

I should have noticed this from the photos, but the three dangling links of each earring are not connected to or held captive by the earring base in any way; the base is a simple "U"-shape hook, like a fish hook, with the "barb(less)" side facing toward the wearer's pinna. The links rely on simple gravity and unlikely luck to remain attached to the base of each earring. The bases themselves do have push-on backs. Upon arrival of the my order, the links for each earring had come off and had slid under the presentation layer of the packaging. That didn't bode well; the gift packaging for shipment couldn't even keep the links and earrings together. The links appear well-made, but for anyone living a more vigorous and mobile life than a mannequin, it's only a matter of time until the chain links are lost to the wind (or to bed sheets and couch cushions should someone sweep you off your feet). Perhaps they represent a new paradigm in earrings, and links are meant to be accessible for rapid removal, should one need ersatz currency for trade.

Love these earrings! They look great with the “lock” necklace I received
